I started my second Mother’s Day without Nora the same way I started my first — shivering at the Sporting Life start line at 7am. Again, it was a fitting way to get through this day by running 10 km down Yonge St for Nora & Kate, and raising funds for Camp Ooch. My old friend Mitch ran with me and the two of us represented Nora’s Narwhals. Kate, Dylan, and my parents were at the finish line and we all went for brunch afterwards at an old favourite, Gayley’s.

We didn’t do the High Park walk and train this Mother’s Day — it was too rainy and I was way more tired this year from the run. Instead, Kate and I went over to Shirley St field and practiced baseball because her house league was starting the following Tuesday. We had a lot of fun and were happy to be in the rain because we had the ball diamond and whole field to ourselves!
Afterwards, Gramma & Poppy came over and we ordered sushi to the house.
